Stay Informed:  Notes and The News Feed

Notes in the MidiCRM news feed help maintain a comprehensive and organized record of all business activities, ensuring that team members can collaborate effectively and stay informed about everything happening within the company.

What is a Note?

In MidiCRM, a note is a piece of information or a record that users can create and share in the news feed to document important interactions and updates related to customers, activities or any other significant development. Notes serve as a way to keep track of various types of information, ensuring that all relevant details are easily accessible and can be reviewed by team members.

Key Features of a MidiCRM Note

Text Content: Notes can include text descriptions of meetings, phone calls, emails, tasks, or any other relevant information. You don’t have to follow a fixed structure when writing a note. Write in any language, in a clear and easily understandable way.

Attachments: Users can attach files to a note to provide additional context or details.

Tags: Notes can be tagged with custom note tags and outlook tags to provide quick insights and facilitate easy filtering.

Relations: Notes can be linked to specific contacts and companies ensuring that they are easily accessible in the relevant context.

Visibility: Notes are visible to team members, ensuring that everyone has access to the same information and can stay updated on the latest developments. MidiCRM Plus users can also set access restrictions on the notes they share, authorizing specific departments or users to view a note while making it invisible to others.

Project or Deal Updates: Share updates on the progress of a project or deal.

How The News Feed Works:

The news feed functions as a central hub where all notes are shared and displayed in chronological order, with the most recently updated or commented ones displayed first. It ensures that everyone in the company stays updated on the latest developments, enhancing transparency and collaboration.

In MidiCRM Plus, users can restrict access to the notes they share by specifying which users and departments can read them. Therefore the news feeds of different users may not display the same notes.

When a new note is posted by another user, an orange-colored bar appears at the top. Clicking this bar refreshes the news feed.

Comments and Likes

Users can comment on a note written by another user by clicking the comment link under it. Comments are always displayed under the note they are about. Comments do not have their own access permissions. They are visible to the users who are authorized to view the note they are about. Any user who is authorized to view a note is also allowed to comment on it.

When sharing new updates on an ongoing relationship, avoid posting it as a comment and write a new note instead. Write a comment only if you are sharing views about the original note, not new developments.

You can also “like” notes and comments. Likes do not change the update time of a note or comment, and therefore do not move the note to the top of the news feed.

Benefits of the News Feed

Centralized Information: All updates and interactions are consolidated in one place, making it easy to stay informed.

Quick Insights: Custom note tags and outlook tags provide quick insights into the content and status of notes.

Improved Collaboration: Updates and shared information enhance team collaboration and communication.

Efficient Management: Filtering options allow users to focus on specific types of information, improving efficiency and workflow management.

By effectively using the news feed in MidiCRM, your team can stay informed, collaborate better, and manage customer relationships more effectively.
